The short version

- The music metadata and cover art you see come from open and licensed data sources, credited below.
- Our fonts are open fonts, used under the SIL Open Font License.

Retaz stands on the work of the open-source community and on open and licensed data. This page credits the major software, data sources, and fonts that Retaz is built with, and states the license each is used under. Where a package does not publish a license identifier we can cite, we credit it by name and point you to its project repository rather than assert a license we did not verify.
1. Open-source software
The Retaz app is built on open-source software, most of it under the MIT License. The direct dependencies below are grouped by role. Each is used under the license shown, which is the license its publisher distributes it under. Full license texts are available on request at info@retaz.fm.

This lists the app's major direct dependencies. Each of these builds on further open-source packages of its own, all used under their respective licenses. If you would like the complete dependency tree or the full text of any license above, email info@retaz.fm and we will send it.
2. Data and content credits
Retaz hosts no music. A Retaz playlist is a list of track references, and playback happens inside your own streaming service through a link. The track details, cover art, and cross-service links you see are drawn from the following sources, each credited here.
- MusicBrainz supplies open music metadata. MusicBrainz core data is released into the public domain under CC0. See musicbrainz.org.
- Cover Art Archive supplies album and release artwork. Each image carries its own per-item license set by the contributor. See coverartarchive.org.
- Songlink / Odesli resolves a track link across streaming services so a playlist works no matter which service you use. It receives track URLs, not personal data. See odesli.co.
- Apple Music supplies track metadata and links, used as a headless feed under Apple's guidelines. See apple.com/apple-music.
- Deezer supplies track metadata and album art, resolved by recording code. See deezer.com.
- NASA Blue Marble provides the Earth imagery used in one of the app's globe views. NASA Blue Marble imagery is in the public domain.
- Natural Earth provides the land shapes and country outlines used in the app's globe. Natural Earth data is in the public domain. See naturalearthdata.com.
3. Fonts
The fonts bundled in the Retaz app are open fonts, used under the SIL Open Font License 1.1:
- DM Sans (Variable), used for the Retaz wordmark and app interface. SIL Open Font License 1.1.
- Noto Sans and Noto Serif faces for rare scripts (Ethiopic, Thaana, Serif Tibetan, Canadian Aboriginal, Meetei Mayek, Ol Chiki, and Myanmar), bundled so those scripts render even when a device does not carry them. SIL Open Font License 1.1.
The retaz.fm website uses Playfair Display and DM Sans (both SIL Open Font License 1.1), served from Google Fonts. The website also displays emoji using Twemoji graphics, which are licensed CC-BY 4.0 by the Twemoji project, delivered through the jsDelivr content delivery network.
4. A note on completeness
We keep this page honest. Where a package's published license is clear, we state it. Where it is not, we credit the project and point you to its repository rather than guess. If you spot anything here that looks wrong, or you need a license text we have not linked, email info@retaz.fm and we will fix or send it.
