Accessibility
The short version
- We want Retaz to work for everyone, and we are building toward that.
- Our goal is to meet the WCAG 2.1 AA standard. We are not there on every screen yet, and we will not claim to be.
- Retaz is pre-launch and in Early Access, so some areas are still improving.

Our commitment
Retaz is a home for music curated by people, in 200+ languages, and it should be usable by as many of those people as possible, including people who use assistive technology. We are committed to making the Retaz app and the retaz.fm website accessible, and to improving them steadily as we build.
The standard we aim for
Our goal is to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, and the equivalent platform accessibility guidance on iOS and Android. This is a target we are working toward, not a certification we hold. Retaz is pre-launch and has not been through a formal third-party accessibility audit, so we describe what we have built honestly rather than claiming full conformance.
What is built today
These accessibility features are implemented in the current Retaz app:
- Screen-reader support. Interactive controls across the app carry descriptive labels, roles, and hints, so VoiceOver on iOS and TalkBack on Android can announce what a control is and what it does.
- Reduce Motion. The app honors your device's Reduce Motion setting, and adds its own in-app Reduce Motion toggle that dials back ambient animation on top of the system setting.
- Bold Text. An in-app Bold Text toggle increases text weight for easier reading.
- Readable color choices. Text and interface colors are chosen for legible contrast against their backgrounds.
- Generous touch targets. Buttons and tap targets are sized to be comfortable to reach and press.
Known limitations
We would rather tell you where we fall short than pretend we are finished:
- Retaz is in Early Access, so some screens are still being refined and accessibility coverage is not yet uniform across every feature.
- Some newer or more visual areas, such as the interactive globe and animated brand moments, are still being improved for assistive technology.
- We have not yet completed a formal, independent accessibility audit. We will, and we will update this statement when we do.
None of this is a place to stop. It is our current honest position, and closing these gaps is part of the work ahead.
How to report a barrier or request help
If any part of Retaz is hard to use with your assistive technology, or you hit a barrier we have not mentioned here, please tell us. Your report helps us fix real problems for real people.
Email info@retaz.fm with the subject "Accessibility", and if you can, include what you were trying to do, the screen or feature involved, and the device and assistive technology you use. We read every one, and we will work with you to find a way through in the meantime.
